Service Overview
We built this grooving station. It goes into cylindrical battery lines.
What does it do? It cuts a groove near the top of the can. That groove holds the top cap. It also seals the cell. Pretty simple actually.
Here's how. The machine has a spindle. Precision type. And forming tools. They press against the can wall. The metal bends but doesn't crack. We checked.
This station only does one job. It sits between the winding station and the filling station. That's it. No switching tasks. No reconfiguring. One thing over and over.
Once the groove is cut, the top cap sits right in place. Then the seal holds during filling. No groove? No seal. That's just how it works.
Leaks happen when the groove is bad. This station stops that from happening.
